What Is Hodgkin’s Lymphoma?

In our ongoing fight against cancer, understanding Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is crucial to our mission. Learn more about this type of cancer and how to help us develop better treatments for those with it.

What Is Hodgkin’s Lymphoma?

Hodgkin’s Lymphoma emerges in the lymphatic system, which helps us rid our bodies of germs, toxins, and other waste. In most cases of this disease, doctors will detect Reed-Sternberg cells in a patient’s body. They will also experience a few key symptoms, including:

  • Painless swelling of lymph nodes in the groin, neck, and armpits
  • Persistent fatigue
  • Fever
  • Night sweats
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Severe itchiness

Treatment options depend on the disease’s stage and may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or a combination of both. Thankfully, the prognosis for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma has significantly improved with new medical research, offering those affected a much higher chance of making a full recovery.
