The Eileen Fund supports research into precision therapies that directly target the underlying causes of cancer, in order to cure it the first time and prevent its return in any form. Our focus is on malignancies, particularly among women, where standard therapies are not effective leading to a high percentage of women who continue to succumb to their cancer.
What We Do

Eileen faced cancer bravely, winning the battle in her youth, only to have it return in a new, more aggressive form resulting from the very treatment that had beaten back the cancer the first time.
At its core, cancer is caused by a change in the DNA of our cells that occurs after birth. What causes the change is varied—in Eileen’s case, it was the treatment she received to cure her first cancer that ultimately caused the cancer that killed her.
In the end, Eileen lost her personal battle, but ours has just begun—all of us who knew and loved her aim to defeat cancer through The Eileen Fund. The fund supports research into precision therapies that directly target the underlying causes of cancer, in order to cure it the first time and prevent its return in any form.
Eileen was a fighter—she was brave and strong; she loved life and all of us. Now we take up her fight. In Eileen’s memory and in her honor, we will not rest until we find the causes of cancer and the methods to defeat it, so that “cancer” is a word we fear no more.
